Donated in 1913 by Mr Percy Barry, the Barry Cup is the oldest trophy contested on the Kenyan coast and remains the club’s premier amateur scratch tournament.
Played annually under Kenya Golf Union rules, it draws competitors from clubs across Kenya to test themselves against Mombasa’s links — firm fairways, small greens, and an ocean wind that has decided more than one final round.
While the tournament remains the club’s marquee event, it now shares the calendar with a full season of medals, cups and social golf, so the club’s story is no longer told through the Barry Cup alone.
