Messsage from the Captain
It gives me great pleasure to represent you as Captain of Mombasa Golf Club for the year 2018. I look forward to meeting those of you I know well and those I have yet to meet, both on and off the golf course. I welcome all new members and would encourage all of you to promote our Club for the golf course and other social facilities we have to offer. From the fixtures list you can see that we have a wide variety of competitions scheduled for this year. I would also encourage all members to consider sponsoring Club Nights on Fridays. It is a great way to meet different members / friends and does encourage you to play better golf. We shall be hosting our sister club Royal Nairobi Golf Club in month of August this year and I would like to encourage you to create time and be part of this visit. There is a great committee behind me who are always ready to support in whatever way is needed and I look forward to working with all of you as a team. Wishing you a fruitful year ahead as you endeavor to meet your individual goals both on and off the golf course for this year.
Yours in Golf,
Yours in Golf,
Four senior golfers hit the course, some of them with waning enthusiasm for the sport. "These hills are getting steeper as the years go by," one complained. "These fairways seem to be getting longer too," said one of the others. "The sand traps seem to be bigger than I remember them too," said the third senior. After hearing enough from his senior buddies, the oldest, and the wisest of the four of them at 87 years old, piped up and said, "Quit your dang complaining and just be thankful we're still on the RIGHT SIDE of the grass!"
